Post Christmas Thoughts

Last Christmas I (did not) gave it my all!

Remembering my December Update I now have to rescind on those ideals. I did not expect an illness to cross my plans but I also did not react appropriately to this situation and did not focus on recovery.

Now with the end of the year drawing closer. I once again contemplate how i am going to move forward and implement lasting changes into my life.

In the short term of the next 2 Weeks I have 2 Goals:

  1. Stop indulging in Infinity Pools (Manga, Youtube, Gaming, Phone Browser)
  2. DAy one Focused Single Tasking Session per Day like Tim Ferriss described

There will be no other actions to be completed. These 2 are the only things needed to be done for a successful day. Tasks have the uncanny ability to seem to matter all the time and everywhere. However this is an illusion. I do not in  fact need to do all these „productive“ and „important“ tasks. I want to change and improve. Which is best done deliberate and small enough to not overwhelm my capacity.

However on the bigger scale I am going to experiment with setting Quarterly Experiments.

The idea is to have goals that are concrete and also present. My Get Fit Goal was not really too present in my everyday life for the last 3 Months. Especcially when it came to consciously thinking about progress.

A weekly or 3 Day Review and Refocus / Rethink for tracking progress and adjusting strategies seem to be worth a try from my perspective.

Quarterly Experiments:

  • Get fitter! (Part 2)
  • Be on track for Masters! (not amazing just doing it.
  • Be amazing at work!
  • Have a single tasking session every day! First Priority every Day!

These Experiments need to further be concretely defined. At least part of them should be trackable.

Next Actions / Concrete Implementation Intentions:

A Single Tasking Session for today

Define the Experiments more clearly – Tomorrow

Think of a strategy to avoid the infinity pools

Tomorrow: Go through work to dos and figure out important and urgent tasks

Sort out to dos – to detect personal important and urgent tasks
